Friendly, helpful, nothing to much trouble, really enjoyed our stay in a clean spacious B&B this is so much more than a B&B the food was exceptional, must have a meal there – will be going back ASAP!

Excellent base for sightseeing and touring.
We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. The family room provided ample space and had a large comfortable shower room. The facilities in the room were great – we even had an iron and ironing board! The room had independent access via a terrace overlooking stunning countryside views. The beds were large and very comfortable – a double and two singles. We were given a towel bale each – fantastic for feuding kids who won’t share anything! The hosts were charming and helpful with lots of useful local knowledge. The breakfast was a massive feast which set us up for the day and the evening meals were very good and reasonably priced. The location was great for touring Cornwall – Lands End about 1 hour, St Ives 45 mins. Padstow 10 mins. We ate at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and the taxi cost £10 each way. Excellent value for money – we will definitely return.

Excellent room, food & value for money.
Stayed 3 nights – very reasonable price. We chose this location because it’s easily accessible to all the places we wanted to visit. Big room with lots of space & everything we could possibly want. Big shower room with super big power shower. Everything clean & newly decorated. Our own access to outside & parking area. Wonderful breakfasts, beautifully cooked. Evening meals very good too. A singer/guitarist played in bar on Saturday evening. An excellent 3 day break, which couldn’t have been bettered!

What a great place to stay when visiting cornwall.
My wife and i stayed for 3 nights and from the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice.A polite owner greeted us and he and his wife after a friendly greeting showed us to our lovely room with what i would consider 4 star furnishings and facilities including a 4 poster bed, flat screen tv and a very large bathroom with a superb power full body shower..The room was spotless and was serviced to a high standard daily.including bottled water replenished for us each day.The breakfast was one of the best i have eaten and could be tailored to our needs. The evening food was also very good as were the ales.We were given local knowledge tips from the owners with no prompting and enjoyed their company though they were not intrusive.having our own entrance to our room though we could enter the pub through an internally connected door was also a nice touch…..Theirs only one place for us to stay next time we visit…Many thanks to you….Mick and Jan

A most comfortable stay with home from home comforts.
We found Robert and Lesley Wilson very hospitable and welcoming, as were all the staff. Our room had easy access – as requested – with its own entrance to the car park. A standard double, it was roomy and well thought out and appointed. The first pleasant surprise was an ironing board,( always a good sign) then an iron, hairdryer and even a torch in one of the many drawers. The pleasant pine furniture (mirrors and bedside cabinets) gave a modern feel and the sockets were actually in the right place near the mirror. With a well-placed modern easy chair for watching the flat screen TV,tissues and a bottle of water each, all comforts were assured. The bathroom had a good shower, huge fluffy bathsheets, hand towel and face cloth. The shower unit had a good entrance and soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers. With a heated towel rail as well, there was nothing to complain about. The facilities were much more than in some large hotel chains. The staff in the Inn gave excellent cheerful service and the locally produced food – cooked by Robert – was plentiful and varied. Breakfasts were hearty. A nice little touch were brain teasing games on the bar tables. Children were catered for in the separate dining room/breakfast room so adults had peace and quiet in the main dining room. The Halfway House Inn , situated on the main trunk road,is convenient for Wadebridge and exploring the beautiful North Cornish coast and such delightful villages as Padstow,St Isaacs etc. It seemed a little inconvenient initially not being able to check in until the pub opened. However this was not an insurmountable problem as we planned our journey around this and we had our own key to come and go as we pleased after that. Last but not least I must mention the welcome sight of a well stocked bookcase with a selection of books for a quiet read. WoW!

Lovely relaxing break.
Lovely old pub, pretty countryside location, but near to coast (Padstow, Polzeath etc.) easy access to loads of places by A 39 and A30. Comfortable, quiet, clean room with all usual facilities. Huge breakfast with lots of variation if you want. Excellent, reasonably priced food in restaurant. (Fab desserts). Friendly helpful staff. What more could you want? Excellent base for visiting loads of places. We stayed 4 nights and came away feeling very relaxed.

Welcoming and definately return to this one.
Travelled for the weekend with my husband and daughter. Booked quite late so was a little worried what the accomodation would be like. So pleasantly surprised. Very clean and well equiped. Power shower in the family room. Breakfast for kings and queens. Comfortable beds. I have paid alot more for alot less. This family run B & B is close to Padstow and has a lovely restaurant and bar. The owners make there guests feel very comfortable and although I am seldomn prepared to reccommend places I cannot not give this place the credit it deserves.

Lovely weekend break – can’t wait to go again.
Lovely warm welcome. Spacious, immaculate room (and was very warm , especially with all the snow around). Great power shower . Nice pub grub and a great breakfast. Our hosts were there if we needed them but not intrusive at all. When we go back will we definitely stay here again.

A Great Getaway!!
Friendly inn, well situated for visiting Padstow and Eden Project as well as the north coast of Cornwall. Good-sized room which was clean and comfortable. Both food and beer were excellent . Staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. Would definitely visit again!
